Takihyo & Kinko’s’ “Sustainable T-Shirts” Evolve on Their First Anniversary Expanding the Scope of Issue-Solving by Adding Orders for Corporations and a Kids’ Size —Bringing a sustainable society closer through technology that combines “recycling materials” & “only making as much as you need”—

Takihyo Co., Ltd. (head office: Nishi Ward, Nagoya City; Representative Director, President and CEO: Kazuo Taki; hereinafter, “Takihyo”) and Kinko’s Japan Co., Ltd. (head office: Minato City, Tokyo Metropolis; President & CEO: Kouki Watanabe; hereinafter, “Kinko’s”) have rebranded their “Sustainable T-Shirts,” which combine Kinko’s’ on-demand printing technology with environmentally friendly materials made using Takihyo’s unique material recycling scheme, the “NO WASTE PROJECT.” To mark the first anniversary of the shirts’ release, the two companies have evolved their lineup to make them usable in a wider range of situations, including providing original tags for corporations and adding a kids’ size.

These products take the environmentally friendly material “ROOPS”—which was born from Takihyo’s NO WASTE PROJECT and is based on the concept of “Don’t waste anything”—and combine it with Kinko’s’ on-demand printing technology to create sustainable T-shirts that “will only be provided in the quantity that is needed.” This rebranding has further deepened the collaboration between the two companies, and adds the following four new features to meet a broad spectrum of needs ranging from individual to corporate customers.

[New features for the Sustainable T-Shirts]
1. Providing original orders for corporations
Original collar tags can be produced featuring company logos. The shirts will meet the needs of corporate customers by being usable as event wear and uniforms.

2. A new kids’ size (120 cm) has been added
The range of sizes has been widened, envisioning use by families and for events.

3. A “Kinko’s × Takihyo” double name tag has been adopted
The collar tag has been changed to feature the names of both companies, to visually promote the product value and environmental initiatives.

4. A sophisticated design that looks good even in plain colors, and a high-quality feel
They have a simple yet high-quality texture, and can be worn as plain T-shirts as well as being used for printing.

[Track record to date]
The initial release of 400 shirts sold out, and were adopted for the following uses:
• Hokkaido Cultural Broadcasting: Novelty items for a live recording of a sauna show
• Fashion design unit “DOKKA vivid”: Workshop bodywear
• Takihyo prospective-employee training: Event bodywear
• Nagoya University Link T Project: Crowdfunding bodywear (planned)
They are also being used in a wide variety of other situations, including for local events and as club T-shirts and exhibition uniforms.
